The motto "Saukäs" fits the works in this concert perfectly, starting with the overture by Wenzel Heinrich Veit, a contemporary of Robert Schumann and almost unknown today . We encounter great virtuosity in Mozart's Sinfonia concertante. Schubert's symphony is grand in terms of its size and ambition: Schumann raved about its "heavenly length".
