More details
A group of young people today are firmly convinced of this. But swing was banned in Nazi Germany, as were youth groups outside of the Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls. The swing kids, or swingers, as they called themselves, were not impressed by this. They strove for individuality and self-determination. Just like the "Edelweiss Pirates" in the Rhineland and the "Leipzig Mobs," they were persecuted and severely punished for this.
