More details
In order to make the music of Janáček's opera "Jenůfa" (1904) known in the concert hall, various orchestral suites have been compiled over the years. The latest and perhaps most successful attempt is that of the conductor Manfred Horneck and the composer Tomás Ille. With largely authentic instrumentation, the "Symphonic Suite" unfolds the contrast between the sad world of the village girl Jenůfa and the cheerful dances of the village.
