The string quartet is considered the supreme discipline of chamber music. Almost all important composers have written string quartets, with a few exceptions: Gustav Mahler and Hector Berlioz, for example. The ensemble around concertmaster Manuel Kastl has once again put together a beautiful program from the rich repertoire.
