The 6th Philharmonic Concert offers a romantic fairy tale hour: Ravel tells of Sleeping Beauty, Tom Thumb, Beauty and the Beast with his colourful orchestral language. Richard Strauss chose the pranks of Till Eulenspiegel as inspiration for his symphonic poem. He composes a rapid sequence of images in a virtuoso, humorous and extremely vivid manner "in the old rogue's way".
