The symphonic poem "A Night on Bald Mountain" is the only major orchestral work by the Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky, although it was never performed publicly during his lifetime. The piece describes the dance of the witches on Midsummer Night on Lyssaja gora ("Bald Mountain"), a place in Slavic mythology that, like Blocksberg, is considered a meeting place for witches.
