Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Badi Assad began studying guitar at the age of fourteen under the tutelage of her father, Jorge, and her brothers Sergio and Odair of Duo Assad -- and as a singer, with her mother, Angelina Assad. Career highlights include winning the "Best Brazilian Guitarist" award of the International Heitor Villa-Lobos Festival.
