The Wiener Symphoniker have premiered various works by Arnold Schoenberg, including his symphonic poem "Pelleas and Melisande". A narrative love story after Maurice Maeterlinck in dramatic sounds, which Schönberg composed without knowledge of Debussy's opera and after his "Transfigured Night".
