Women composers and performers have often challenged orchestral and jazz norms, leaving an indelible impact. This conversation examines works by composer / bandleader Mary Lou Williams, harpists Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby, and electronic music pioneer Clara Rockmore, among others. Panelists will include Ashley Jackson, Dorit Chrysler, Orin O’Brien, and moderator Jeannie Oliver-Cretara.
