Cinco de Mayo served as an inspirational springboard for this unique concert celebrating both Spanish and Mexican music. The concert opens with José Pablo Moncayo’s Huapango, a lively and joyful tribute to the popular music of the Mexican state of Veracruz. Manuel de Falla’s gorgeously orchestrated Nights in the Gardens of Spain featuring the debut of young Mexican pianist Rachid Bernal will immerse us in Spanish Impressionism. Silvestre Revuelta...
