THE ARTIST tells the story of a visual artist whose creative crisis quickly escalates into an identity crisis. Plagued by self-doubt and perceived societal expectations, the painter is thwarted by a world full of pompous curators and exclusive champagne receptions. His own fear of failure accompanies him at every step. As his imposed artistic identity begins to crumble, his failure takes on increasingly grotesque dimensions.
