In the kickoff to our EARTH | Songs Festival, Stravinsky’s revolutionary and even notorious The Rite of Spring bursts with untamed energy and depicts a Russian pagan ritual. The more introspective D’un Matin de printemps by Lili Boulanger and Tan Dun’s percussion concerto – featuring BSO Principal Percussionist Edouard Beyens – offer poignant reflections on humanity’s evolving connection to nature.
