ABBA

Valley Dance Theatre brings full-length and repertory classical ballet and contemporary dance productions to the San Francisco East Bay. Every December, the Company presents several full-length performances of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. A second major production is staged each season in late Spring. As the resident ballet company, all performances are held at the Bankhead Theater and are accompanied by the Valley Dance Theatre Pit Orchestra. Costumes and sets are created by professional, award-winning designers. Founded in Livermore, in 1980, Valley Dance Theatre is a licensed, nonprofit Ballet Company which also operates an affiliated school of dance, offering ballet classes for ages 3 years through adult and boys’ classes.

Back by popular demand, Jason Petty’s Obie Award-winning performance brings the timeless music of Hank Williams to life in 100 Years of Hank Williams. Featuring iconic hits like “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “Lovesick Blues,” and “Hey Good Lookin’,” this high-energy tribute had Bankhead audiences on their feet when he was here in 2022. From Hank’s first guitar to his lasting impact on American music, this unforgettable show has fans clapping, stomping, and coming back for more.

100 Years of Hank Williams

Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film was directed by renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme and is considered by critics as the greatest concert film of all time. Starring band members David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Jerry Harrison and Tina Weymouth (along with their incredible touring musicians), the live performance was shot at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater and features Talking Heads’ most memorable songs. The live event will feature a public screening of the re-release and hosted by co-star Jerry Harrison who will deliver introductory remarks, post screening comments and audience Q&A.
