Engelbert Humperdinck's musical setting of the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel, premiered in 1893 , remains one of the most popular and frequently performed operas worldwide. The exciting story of the wicked witch and the world-famous children's songs make the work extremely popular even today. The Salzburg Children's Festival presents this late-Romantic opera in an abridged version, featuring fun interactive opportunities for young and old.
