The Philharmonie Salzburg was founded in 1998 by conductor Elisabeth Fuchs . The orchestra has won the hearts of audiences with fresh interpretations of classical works, unusual programs and passionate music-making. Music education and participatory projects are just as much a part of the annual program as classical philharmonic concerts. The repertoire includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Stravinsky, Britten, John Adams, Arvo Pärt, Astor Piazzolla and Fazıl Say. In the crossover area, the orchestra impresses with projects such as Jedermann Reloaded Symphonic, Salut Salon Symphonique, Alpine Symphony and Alpine Literature, Silent Film & Live Music, Best of Hollywood, Broadway meets Hip-Hop, A Symphonic Tribute to ABBA, QUEEN, THE BEATLES and Michael Jackson, Classic meets Cuba, Symphonic Salsa, Mambo in Concert and Symphonic Alps with the Herbert Pixner Project. The Philharmonie Salzburg works with renowned and outstanding artists:The orchestra has worked together with renowned artists such as Juan Diego Flórez, Pumeza Matshikiza, Rolando Villazón, Rafael Fingerlos, Bernhard Berchtold, Rainhard Fendrich, Maria Bill, Conchita Wurst, Monika Ballwein, Deborah Henson-Conant, Evelyn Huber, Sergey Malov, Alina Pogostkina, Benjamin Schmid, Yury Revich, Daniel Müller-Schott, Julia Hagen, Camille Thomas, Ferhan and Ferzan Önder, Olga Scheps, Fabio Martino, Nikolai Tokarev, Galina Vracheva, Radovan Vlatković, Andreas M.
