This program will be offered twice: once before the Holiday Parade down Sandusky Street in Delaware, and the following week at the Palace Theatre in Marion.

The Dempsey Event Center

This concert celebrates music faculty from Ohio's universities. COS Concertmaster (and Wright State faculty) Tom Sobieski will perform the solo part in A Tempered Wish by Ching-chu Hu (Denison University). Bruce Murray (Miami University) will perform Ravel's sparkling Piano Concerto in G, and join with principal trumpeter Dale Nawrocki for Shostakovich's tongue-in-cheek Piano Concerto #1. Music Director Jaime Morales-Matos (Miami University) will lead the orchestra in Beethoven's Fourth Symphony.

Marion Palace Theatre & May Pavilion

Josh Jones will play Procession, Jessie Montgomery's inventive percussion concerto. Mussorgsky's colorful Pictures at an Exhibition in Ravel's iconic orchestration will complete the program.

Presented in collaboration with Carnegie Hall, Link Up is our annual educational concert for fourth graders. Prior to the concert, students study musical architecture, the cultural history of music in their school music classes. They also learn to play a selection of pieces on the recorder. Then, a thousand fourth graders come together with the Symphony at Gray Chapel for a live interactive show in which the children sing, dance -- and PLAY -- with the Symphony.
