Gabriel Fauré's timbre rises again on this Sunday morning, in the fullness of his chamber music, which includes his richest pages. The soloists of the National gather around Emmanuel Strosser in the First Quintet , then, alone facing Tchaikovsky, sing his Souvenirs de Florence in six voices – a story of rehearing that dream of a Serenade born while contemplating the Arno.
