Having won First Prize and the Gold Medal at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 22, the young Frenchman chose Chopin's Second Concerto , which the Polish composer premiered in Warsaw before leaving his country for good. A marvelous work that demands, in addition to silver fingers, a sense of singing that embraces the lost melody of the Larghetto in the slow movement, dedicated to Konstanze Gladowska.
