Following our captivating performance at Halifax Minster in 2025, we are delighted to return to Halifax as part of our ongoing commitment to Culturedale and our work with UNESCO’s Seeds of Hope initiative.

As echoes of The Lark Ascending continue to resonate across the town, we look forward to bringing another vibrant programme of string repertoire to the Victoria Theatre, celebrating the very best of English music alongside inspiring works from around the world. The programme includes Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves, Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, and Grieg’s much-loved Holberg Suite.

We are especially pleased to premiere a new arrangement of Malcolm Arnold’s English Dances and to share the stage with talented young musicians from the Calderdale Music Youth Ensemble. This special concert provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase our award-winning work with schools and community groups across the region before we return to Calderdale again in August.

Close Encounters: Beyond the Lark

We are pleased to perform at the Festival de Torroella de Montgrí this summer with pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja and conductor Marzena Diakun in a programme celebrating the Classical tradition.


The concert opens with Haydn’s Symphony No. 44, the dramatic and intensely expressive “Funeral” Symphony. Elisabeth Leonskaja then joins us for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, a work of elegance, lyricism and charm that showcases the composer at his most inventive. The programme concludes with Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, a youthful masterpiece inspired by Mozart and Haydn, full of warmth, clarity and melodic beauty.


Bringing together three of the great composers of the Classical era, this programme highlights the artistry of one of today’s most distinguished pianists alongside the English Chamber Orchestra in the beautiful surroundings of the Costa Brava.
