Danish composer Carl Nielsen's "Aladdin" (1919) is a concentrated portrayal of the Orient in itself. Originally composed to accompany a play by dramatist Adam Oehlenschläger, its music captures all the magic of the Arabian Nights with its market scenes, exotic celebrations, and Indian, Chinese, or Moorish dances.
