Vocalist and composer Jacqui Naylor returns to SFJAZZ following sold-out shows in Europe, Canada, Asia, and the United States. With twelve albums and a dedicated following around the world, Naylor is known for her deeply rich, soulful voice, wide vocal range, and signature arrangements of standards, covers, and original music. The singer attributes her unique sound to tight and spontaneous interplay with long-time bandmates. What Naylor and her band create on stage together is both sensitive and explosive!

Since her 2003 debut album Salt, Wright’s music has evolved to embrace soul and R&B, steeped in the gospel of her childhood. She makes a welcome appearance on the Miner stage with music from her latest Blues & Greens release, Shadow.

Join composer and performer Daniel Berkman in this fun workshop at the SFJAZZ Center as he explores and demonstrates the vast potential of making music on personal electronic devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.) using free or low-cost apps and software and how to get those sounds into professional recordings. This will be a very informative and practical class as handheld devices offer a huge range of possibilities for music creation due to their ergonomics and ease of use. Very fun and intriguing class!
