Welshman Karl Jenkins arrives at this timeless and cross-cultural insight in his 2000 anti-war oratorio, a musical journey through moments of war and destruction. He touches on the eponymous medieval folk song about the "armed man," lets Christian, Muslim, and Far Eastern voices speak, and articulates the hope for a world at peace.
