The gifted Lili Boulanger died at the age of just 24. Despite her fragile health, she managed to create a small yet exquisite oeuvre, primarily chamber and vocal music of incomparable spirituality and impressionistically delicate color. The sparkling Scherzo "D'un matin de printemps," lasting only a few minutes, is in no way inferior to the best works of Debussy or Ravel.
