The penniless Nemorino is madly in love with Adina. But she, clever and self-confident, disdains his clumsy advances. Instead, she promptly becomes engaged to the rich but complacent Captain Belcore. When the quack Dulcamara arrives in the village, Nemorino finds new hope: a love potion is supposed to turn his luck around! What worked for Tristan and Isolde can't hurt him after all. Once per season, the First Steps format gives the dancers of the Coburg State Theatre's ballet ensemble the opportunity to premiere their own choreographies.
