Celebrate spring with a rich musical journey in this concert, where every piece is a destination in itself. Principal Trumpet George Carpten will bring the brilliance of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto to life, evoking the excitement of innovation and discovery. The serene intimacy of Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, a peaceful pause along the way, will lead to the spirited energy of Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 “Italian,” inspired by his own travels. ASO Member Brent Register’s Alegria, an ASO World Premiere, combines the unique sounds of the bass clarinet with the English horn, and explores how the experience of new places sparks profound musical expression. Experience stunning visuals alongside “The Planets,” Gustav Holst’s beloved orchestral suite, as the James Webb Space Telescope's awe-inspiring photographs of distant galaxies and celestial phenomena are projected alongside the music. From the cosmic storms of Mars to the serene beauty of Venus, Holst’s masterpiece invites you to explore the vastness of space through music.

Featuring music from familiar favorites like The Nutcracker, A Charlie Brown Christmas and more, combined with traditional Christmas classics, this concert will showcase local guest ballet dancers, vocalists, and choirs from our community.
