Rimrock Opera Foundation

Rimrock Opera will host OperaFest at the Hilands Golf Club, 714 Poly Drive, Billings, Montana Saturday May 30, 2026, beginning at 6PM with hors d'oeuvres and no-host cocktails, followed by a gourmet dinner with select wines. OperaFest is a delightful evening with live opera entertainment, fine dining, and upscale live and silent auctions.

OperaFest live auction items include an African photo safari for two, and an appearance in a Rimrock Opera production, a private gourmet dinner for eight by a local prominent chef, and a wine and hors d’oeuvre party for 20 with Rimrock Opera performance tickets.

Giacomo Puccini's incomparable masterpiece, “La bohème” is a beloved tale of love and bitter tragedy. “La bohème” has inspired audiences for more than 130 years with its glorious melodies illuminating the eternal story of starving artists and star-crossed lovers in the Latin quarter of Paris. Puccini sets the poet Rodolpho and the fragile Mimi in the garrets of Paris and the raucous streets of the Latin Quarter. Amidst the revelry, the lovers and their artist friends, Colline the philosopher, Schaunard the musician, Marcello the painter and his fiery girlfriend Musetta, charge headlong into a series of tragic trysts and romantic misadventures.

Some of the most cherished melodies in all of opera, poignant and touching moments of heartfelt emotion, true love and ultimate loss, are yours to wrap your heart around. It is said that when Puccini penned the final notes which accompany Mimi's tragic death in La Bohème, he wept copiously. Audiences forever after have been doing the same thing. Let the music and the sheer, human helplessness of the characters carry the day; but be warned, Rimrock Opera's La Bohème is a three-handkerchief show!
