With Cobra, John Zorn, arguably the most famous representative of the revolutionary American downtown scene of the 80s and 90s, created a true classic of the late 20th century. This "game piece" for improvising musicians and a prompter doesn't use traditional notation, but rather a system of cards and rules. The title is inspired by a strategy game. Groups around the world continue to gather to explore new interpretations of the composition.
