Mezzoforte comes to Bremen Teater with their solid and groovy fusion jazz-funk
Mezzoforte burst through the sound barrier with their smash hit 'Garden Party' in 1983 and have since spread their solid groovy North Atlantic jazz-funk to the whole world. Eythor, Fridrik and Johann form the original core of the band and the chemistry is the same when the group from Reykjavik takes over the Bremen Theatre in July.

They have been together for 40 years, and therefore played two sold-out anniversary shows in Reykjavik in September 2017. It was Steinar Berg who saw the potential in the band early on. It took four albums to break through to the charts, and with the album Surprise Surprise from 1982, Mezzoforte hit both the charts and the dance floors of discos with 'Garden Party', which was also arranged by Chris Cameron.

Buki-Yamaz reunites and plays a concert at Bremen Teater during Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2026.
After more than four decades of absence, the Danish Latin-funk ensemble Buki-Yamaz returns to the stage. In December 2025, the band will play two exclusive anniversary concerts to mark the 50th anniversary of their debut album in 1975. Both concerts sold out in record time, and now the group is coming to Bremen Teater during this summer's Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

As one of the most style-setting orchestras of the 70s, Buki-Yamaz mixed jazz, funk, Latin and psychedelic elements with uncompromising musicality and intense live energy. In their short but groundbreaking career, they managed to release five albums in just four years, play up to 100 concerts annually and were a regular at Roskilde Festival from 1974 to 1979.

Mari Froes comes to Bremen Teater with warm and sensual waves of MPB, bossa nova and samba
São Paulo-born Mari Froes has positioned herself at the forefront of the new wave of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), which in her sensual universe seamlessly blends with warm bossa nova, samba and jazz.

She entered COLORS with a beautiful interpretation of the Brazilian song Gabriela , and with a signing to the record label 777 Music Group, Froes is truly on a rocket towards the stars. After her concert at Hotel Cecil sold out in record time, she will now return to Denmark this summer with a concert at Bremen Teater during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

Hanne Boel and Carsten Dahl come to Bremen Theatre during Copenhagen Jazz Festival
Hanne Boel and Carsten Dahl need no further introduction. They are, in each of their fields, exceptional artists from the very top shelf in Denmark with long careers behind them in pop and jazz.

After recording the highly acclaimed duo album I Think It's Going to Rain from 2010, they have taken a longer break from their collaboration. This summer they reunited with two concerts at Hotel Cecil during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, and in 2026 they will repeat the success at Bremen Teater.

Curtis Stigers comes to Bremen Theatre
American singer, saxophonist, guitarist and songwriter Curtis Stigers looks back on a long and prolific career with millions of albums sold and a number of big hits such as “I Wonder Why.” He has moved across a multitude of genres – from rock, blues and soul to jazz, country and folk – and has collaborated with, among others, Al Green, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King and Barry Mann.

The Frank Zappa musicians in Banned From Utopia will come to Bremen Teater on October 15th and play songs from Zappa's back catalogue.
Banned from Utopia – consisting of former Frank Zappa musicians – is coming to Bremen Teater and playing music from Zappa's entire back catalogue.

After two concerts in Gothenburg and Stockholm in March 2024, a team of Frank Zappa's best musicians is now coming to Denmark, where they will take the stage at Bremen Teater on October 15th with a setlist consisting of songs from Zappa's entire back catalogue. Lineup

Banned From Utopia

American songwriter Ben Folds comes to Bremen Theatre
Ben Folds is an Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter and musician who has released music for decades as both a solo artist and as the frontman of the Ben Folds Five. He has toured the world and performed with the world's leading symphony orchestras as well as artists such as Regina Spektor and "Weird Al" Yankovic. Folds is also a New York Times bestselling author and has written music for film, television and theater.

On December 3, 2026, he will come to Denmark as part of his Paper Airplane Request Tour - a unique concert format where you can write your favorite songs by Folds on paper, fold them into paper airplanes and throw them towards the stage. The concert is divided into two halves with a short break in between. In the first half, Folds will play a regular setlist. In the second half, he will play the songs that have been requested via paper airplanes that are thrown onto the stage.
