Lotte lies sleepless in her apartment. She has been abandoned by the love of her life, Mikael, and she has also been fired from her job as a social worker. Suddenly, Mikael's adult son, who cannot reach his father, calls. They find Mikael dead in his apartment. Together they throw themselves into solving Mikael's mysterious death. At the same time, she involuntarily steps into the neighbor's stormy marital drama.
