Ivan and Tzvetanka Varimezov bring the rich musical traditions of rural Bulgaria to life in a vibrant performance featuring the evocative gaida (bagpipe) and highly ornamented Bulgarian village singing. Drawing from the storied musical heritage of the Strandzha and Thrace regions, the Varimezovs offer audiences an engaging and heartfelt exploration of Bulgaria’s living folk music traditions as part of the SDSU World Music Concert Series.
