Today, the single-family house seems to us like a natural form of housing, but it is actually a conservative idea from the 1950s: As part of Konrad Adenauer's domestic policy attempt to establish the Federal Republic of Germany as a bulwark against communism, the legal foundations for the construction boom of single-family houses were created.
