In A Tribute to Women Pioneers in Blues and Rock'n'Roll, Violet Green opens the door to a musical history filled with courage, blackness and brilliance. With joy of playing and storytelling power, they take the audience from smoky bars in the American South to the bustling stages of vaudeville tents, where women like Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Big Mama Thornton, Etta James and Janis Joplin paved the way for everything that came after.

The show is a rapid journey through over a hundred years of female musical tradition – where the swinging joy is mixed with stories of struggle, creativity and stolen songs. With an energetic six-piece band and a charismatic singer, Violet Green gives new life to voices that should never be silenced. It is a tribute, a restoration and a reminder that many of music's greatest hits began with women who dared to let the truth be heard.
