This is a story about a society that refused to give up. A fight for more than a dairy product – about identity, pride and faith in the future. The marriage between Hildegard and Jörgen has probably been strained even before the strip club came to the village. But now! No one is left untouched by this incredible addition to the entertainment scene, who is for it and who is against it? As if that weren't enough, Näcken herself is roaming the edge of the forest.

The frustrated Hildegard, played by Anna Blomberg, has her life turned upside down. When she and the dancer Jessica chase the mysterious Näcken, not only does an unexpected friendship arise. She also realizes that the secret she has been carrying will soon be exposed.

In the middle of a small town, everyday life, dreams and longing meet. In Hildegard and Jörgen's combined living room and foot care salon, life goes on in all its quiet confusion, while the new entertainment establishment lures with glamour and promises of something more. And out in the forest, Näcken keeps vigil between nightmare and daydream, between allure and danger.

It is about being able to trust each other, about volunteering and working hard. It is about the will to make a difference and about moments you never forget. But also about what we are prepared to do to be part of the group, and how we must live with our decisions – and about dealing with the great challenge afterwards – of becoming a “civilian” among others.

Sköldberg & Andréas interpret Swedish composers and perform music by Benny Andersson, Laleh, Ted Gärdestad, Björn Skifs, Håkan Hellström, Lasse Berghagen and others.

The duo met at the Gothenburg Opera in Kristina från Duvemåla in 2014 and have since performed together in musicals, concerts and performances.

Jacob Andréas, from Lerum, has over 20 years of experience on stage and has appeared in productions such as Kristina från Duvemåla, Hair, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Oliver at the Gothenburg Opera. He has also been in The Sound of Music, Rock of Ages, toured with Tomas Ledin and is now touring with the concert Sånger Från Duvemåla Hage.

On guitar, five string banjo, tin whistle and with vocals, Dag Westling performs a solo program of Irish and Scottish folk songs mixed with a splash of American old-time.

Dag Westling is an internationally recognized musician both as a solo artist and as a singer and instrumentalist in the music group Quilty. The band is considered one of the Nordic countries' foremost representatives of Irish traditional music. Dag Westling's genuine feeling for Irish music finds multifaceted expression in his instrumental virtuosity and emotional singing.

World-class tap dance, body percussion and jazz music

This year's opening act at the Stockholm International Tap Dance Festival is the New York-based Max Pollak Group. On March 29, the festival will have a sneak opening at the Norrlandsoperan with world-renowned tap virtuoso Max Pollak.

Max Pollak was only five years old when he discovered tap dancing back home in Vienna in the mid-1970s. Fred Astaire enchanted him with his rhythmic footwork. By tuning in to film reruns on television, Pollak learned everything he could from the musical film's big star on his own.

At the age of 14, he got his first mentor in tap, Carnell Lyons, a childhood friend of Charlie Parker. This became Pollak's path into the African-American tap culture. Max Pollak left Europe for New York when, at the age of 21, he got the opportunity to share the stage with jazz musician Ray Brown.
