One of the great chamber works of the 20th Century, Shostakovich’s Quintet for Piano and Strings earned the composer the Soviet Union’s highest honor in the arts, and allowed him to tour for years, playing with the Glazunov Quartet. Award winning pianist Yakov Kasman joins talented musicians of the ASO to perform this beloved work alongside works by Shostakovich’s countrymen that also feature the clarinet
