Renowned Mexican soprano Elena Rivera studied in Spain where she became known for her mastery of zarzuela and received the Lola Rodríguez Aragón award for being the most outstanding student of her generation. She was nominated for the 2020 Latin Grammy in the category of Best Classical Music Album with the Latin American Quartet for their album The Juliet Letters (composer Elvis Costello).
