Many highlight the award-winning and 4-time Grammy winner Bjarke Falgren as a musician who, like few others, can make his 300-year-old gypsy violin almost speak. And like few others, can bring smiles and emotions to life with his expressive playing. Svend Asmussen therefore also considered Bjarke as his natural heir and decided that Bjarke should be the first to receive the 'Ellen & Svend Asmussen Prize 2017'.
