Aarhus Kammerorkester is giving its opinion on this, but the audience's help is needed to find the piece that will win the title of winner of the Danish Classical Melodi Grand Prix 2026. The evening's emcee leads the way as the Aarhus Chamber Orchestra plays a hand-picked selection of the very best classical music pieces. Experience unavoidable ear-catching pieces by Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky and get acquainted with modern composers who have created future classics. The concert culminates in an audience vote that finds and selects the winner of the Classical Melodi Grand Prix 2026 – the audience also has the opportunity to win a prize.

Get into the Christmas spirit with the Aarhus Kammerorkester when we invite you to a concert filled with beautiful melodies, community singing and the music of Carl Nielsen. Together we create an evening where both the well-known Christmas carols and new musical discoveries are allowed to fill the church space. Carl Nielsen's music is full of magic. We begin with his flute concerto, which will be 100 years old in 2026, and move into a sound universe full of mystery, poetry and adventure. From here, we slowly let ourselves be drawn towards Christmas through a series of Carl Nielsen's Christmas carols. You can look forward to both the beloved Mit hjerte altid vanker and Min Jesus, lad mit hjerte fä – and to experiencing two Christmas carols that few have had the opportunity to hear in the concert hall: Hjemlige jul, stråler du nu! and Kom jul, til jord, kom høje gæst. All four songs will be performed in brand new orchestral versions, created especially for this concert.
