Brentano String Quartet: Tragic Scenes and Operatic Arias
More details
The Brentano String Quartet explores themes of tragedy and lamentation in the chamber works of Beethoven and Mozart, pulling on images of Romeo and Juliet, Dido and Aeneas, and more. The centerpiece of the evening is Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 — an exhilarating feat of endurance and virtuosity that few can master like the School’s quartet-in-residence.
