Virdimura tells the true story of the first female doctor in history, in 1300's Catania. The show is based on the novel by Simona Lo Iacono, winner of the 2024 Vittorini Prize, with dramaturgy by Angela Dematté and direction by Cinzia Maccagnano. Daughter of a doctor who teaches her to heal all human beings, Virdimura grows rooted in her city, as strong as the moss on the walls from which she takes her name.
