A'e is nearly seventy years old and lives with her son Shi'an, who is still unmarried. Her daughter Shi'ning has returned to the family home with her child after her divorce. When A'e tries to buy an expensive cashmere sweater, she falls victim to a scam. This event brings to the surface the hidden tensions in the old house, and everyone must confront painful memories buried deep in their hearts.
