Since Dziga Vertov's "Man with a Movie Camera" of 1929 at the latest, there have been films about the medium itself, so-called meta-films. Its most famous practitioner, Quentin Tarantino, draws decisive inspiration for his experimental films from Korean as well as European cinema.
