The season begins to sunset with the well-known “Sunrise” from Strauss’ tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra, the famous music used in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Michael-Thomas Foumai pays homage to the Japanese Anime genre in his 2015 tone-poem Fullmetal. And Verdi’s “fate motif” in the Overture to La forza del destino is one not to be missed.
