In 1997, drummer and composer Brian Blade formed The Fellowship Band with pianist and composer Jon Cowherd. The band members are saxophonists Myron Walden and Melvin Butler, bassist Christopher Thomas and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. Over the 26 years that the band has existed, they have released seven recordings.
