The Philharmonic performs Sibelius’s romantic First Symphony, with a musical palette evoking the atmosphere of his native Finland and enthralling listeners with its grand sweep and intensity. Bryce Dessner — of the Grammy Award–winning band The National — plays electric guitar in the New York Premiere of his own <em>Wires,</em> a riveting fusion of rhythm and sound.
