Gil Shaham joins the Orchestra in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, the lyrical beauty of which has kept it a favorite of the repertoire. Jaap van Zweden also conducts the overture to Mozart’s comic masterpiece and closes with Florence Price’s bustling synthesis of American musical styles.
