Howard Swanson had a complicated life as a musician. His career did not take a linear path upwards, but was full of starts and stops, and various chapters. He was able to “begin again” anywhere he went. We introduce this poetic solo piano gem, “Cuckoo,” and we pair it with one of the most iconic chamber works by Schubert.
