Chamber Music: Sibelius and Grieg

The first Chamber concert of the season features two preeminent Scandinavian composers—Jean Sibelius and Edvard Grieg—and highlights their most influential works for quartet. Sibelius’s “Voces Intimae,” or “Intimate Voices,” is a characteristically lush, introspective and brooding conversation between the voices of the quartet. Grieg’s Quartet in G Minor is his only completed quartet in existence and is a dramatic and powerful work.
