Classically-trained composer/pianist JooWan Kim leads Ensemble Mik Nawooj in the creation of Meta Music by sampling principles of both hip-hop and classical. Merging genres with a resident MC, a lyric soprano, woodwinds, French horn, string, piano, and drums, Ensemble Mik Nawooj creates rigorous, nuanced, and accessible music that challenges the aesthetics of Western European concert music in a way that is fast-paced, engaging, and fun.
