In the intimate Weill Recital Hall, witness Carnegie Hall’s first-ever complete performance of George Walker’s sumptuous First String Quartet. It is an impassioned early piece by the Pulitzer-winning composer, and in its beautiful second movement you will hear the basis of Walker’s most popular work, Lyric for Strings.
