His work, Jazz Conceptions in Classical Arabic, explores the rich traditions of Arabic music within the frameworks of jazz, creating a genre often referred to as Afro-Tarab. This performance promises to take audiences on a captivating journey from early 1900s Cairo to contemporary New York, featuring reinterpretations of classical Arabic muwashahat—an ancient musical form—as well as original compositions inspired by traditional rhythms and melodic modes.
